Connection
We crave connection—yet we live in an age where we are both closer and more distant than ever. This paradox defines modern relationships, shaped by screens, fast interactions, and shifting societal norms. As Near as I Am Far explores this tension through the most intimate imprint possible: the body itself.
Using a technique I call body-printing, I transfer pigment directly from my skin to the canvas. The mark left behind is both abstract and deeply personal, a trace of presence, absence, and longing. Where the prints overlap, a neon kiss emerges—a fleeting moment of closeness, of bodies meeting, before dissolving into distance again.
The role of the nude in art is ever-changing. In a world accustomed to the objectified female form, this work shifts the gaze—it is not about being seen, but about leaving a mark, claiming space, making presence tangible. It is the body as both creator and subject, as near as it is far.
