This series depicts Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin leaving one another after a rendezvous in a film from 1966. The repetition of format and content alludes to the repetition of behaviour—repeated affairs, a long ongoing affair, new identities.  Increasingly abstract, the works show us how our experiences lead us farther and farther from the reality we once knew.  A new world is created—a parallel reality. It is at once mysterious, fascinating, arousing and disturbing, but is it real?  What is real, and what is our identity in this new reality?
